Accessing Your home

Spring can give you up to 14 days to access to your home after completion so you can safely carry out your onward move in your own time.

HOW DO I PREPARE FOR THE RICS VALUATION VISIT?

Prior to any visit, specific guidance will be issued by the RICS surveyor if appropriate, but here are some additional tips to help you prepare and ensure the process goes smoothly and safely if you are concerned in any way:

  • Using antibacterial cleaner, wipe down all items that are likely to be touched, such as door handles and light switches.
  • Open windows to encourage natural ventilation.
  • Turn light switches on.
  • Open internal doors, loft hatches & ladders etc to minimise touch points.
  • If possible, leave a bottle of hand sanitiser by entry/exit point.
  • If you are physically able to leave your property during the duration of the survey, it is advised to do so.
  • Once the survey has been completed, clean surfaces with antibacterial cleaner.
